Who We Are

Govilkar & Associates is a Mumbai-based legal practice with a strong legacy in dispute resolution and advisory work. The practice traces its roots to Adv. Vinayak D. Govilkar, who began his legal journey in 1959, and was later joined by Adv. Rajshekhar V. Govilkar, Senior Advocate and former Government Pleader, Original Side, Bombay High Court. Today, the practice combines that legacy with a modern, technology-enabled and client-focused approach.
The firm primarily handles litigation and dispute resolution before the Bombay High Court and other courts and tribunals in Maharashtra, along with advisory, arbitration and mediation work. Its areas of work include property and real estate disputes, co-operative societies, trusts, family and matrimonial matters, testamentary and succession matters, commercial disputes, company matters, insolvency-related disputes, intellectual property, regulatory issues and selected criminal matters.

Adv. Mihir R. Govilkar

Advocate, Mediator and Arbitrator

Adv. Mihir R. Govilkar is a third-generation Advocate based in Mumbai. He practises before the Bombay High Court and other courts and tribunals in Maharashtra, with work spanning litigation, arbitration, mediation and legal advisory. His practice areas include property disputes, company matters, intellectual property, debt recovery, family law, constitutional law and general disputes advisory.

He holds a BMS and LL.M. from Mumbai University, an MBA from Johnson & Wales University, USA, and an MSc in Finance from EDHEC Business School, France. He is also a Certified Mediator, with training from the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs and ADR ODR International. His multidisciplinary background gives him a practical, strategic and business-sensitive approach to legal problem-solving.

Senior Advocate

B.Com (Hons), LL.M., Mumbai University. Former Government Pleader, Original Side, Bombay High Court, 1995 to 1999. He has extensive experience in constitutional law, writ petitions, public law, institutional matters, government and semi-government bodies, public and private trusts, educational institutions and complex civil disputes. He also acts as an Arbitrator.
